The new city, unfolds on the axis roadon Cutro Street, that starts from the very central Square Pythagoras, until reaching "Vescovatello" and then on "106 Ionic State Road".The pulse building at the end of the 80s it was very important, with the creation of the Tufolo district. From the late '90s, with a series of ups and downs, Croton continues to expand. To the south of the city, called "Crotone2", were developed districts such as Fondo Farina and Poggio Verde: the"PalaKrò" (the multi-purpose sports hall), the new Fire station Department and the structure of regional importance of the Italian Red Cross. Crotone has also the "St. Anna" airport also known as "Pythagoras" airport, is located 15 km from Crotone, in the southern area of the city, along the State Road 106 in the direction of Catanzaro, which is about 40 km, in the territory of Isola of Capo Rizzuto's district. It is the third commune of the Calabria. The town has a railway station located on the Ionic line, which allows connections to the main centers of the regionand some interregional connection. Finally, the commercial port of Crotone is the largest of Calabria, second only to the port of Gioia Tauro (which holds the authority anyway): a series of interventions planned for the 2009-2011 period should revive the fortunes of the airport. Crotone has been twinned since 2010 with Giannitsa (Central Macedonia) and Oporto (Portugal) and from 2013 with Hamm (Germany).
